2009 marks the 400th anniversary of the explorations of Henry Hudson and Samuel de Champlain, as well as the 200th anniversary of Robert Fulton’s first steamboat voyage along the Hudson River. The Quadricentennial celebrations are already being planned, as well as the tributes other regional historical figures, such as Wappinger Sachem Daniel, the final Wappinger Chief.
